We got our first Great Dane in 1971 and over the years we have seen a decline in health in the breed.  We have come to the conclusion a lot of the health issues are created by improper feeding and over-vaccination.  

Because of our concerns, we now feed a  natural diet, BARF, and use homeopathic nosodes for disease prevention.  We try to stay away from any chemical Dips,
pesticides etc..  This has been our policy since 1991 when  we first began feeding a partial BARF diet and began using Nosodes instead of vaccines.  In October 1999 we began feeding a total BARF diet.  

We are pleased that the Veterinary Teaching Schools are now changing their vaccine protocols to every 3 years instead of yearly.  Progress is being made.  

We sincerely hope before purchasing a puppy you will read the vaccine articles and educate yourself so you can make an informed decision about vaccines versus nosodes.  The only vaccine required by law is Rabies.  Other vaccines should be a choice for each person to make.  We hope by reading the material you will choose Nosodes instead of Vaccines. 

We also urge you to read the articles on feeding a Natural diet.  There are companies now that make raw/natural diets if you need help in this area.  We feel you will find the benefits of feeding a raw/natural diet worth the effort .  

For those who choose not to feed a natural diet, one of the premium pet foods should be fed.
